The U.S. jobless rate dropped to 9.7% in May 2010, down 2% from the 9.9% unemployment rate one month earlier. But there is even more good news, principally in the 37 states plus the District of Columbia that posted unemployment rates below the national average. These findings are based on the latest regional and state employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics released the morning of June 18.
